apple, guava, litchi〈Jade Purse〉, plum,
jack fruit, olive, millet, ginger and so
forth. The aquatic products comprise
stonefish, lobster, hairtail, cobia,

Transportation Directory:
Currently the main traffic arteries in
Dawu area reside in South Link Highway
and South Link Railway. Dawu is about 60
kilometers to Taitung City.
Highway
As the government has continually
broadened and straightened the South
Link Highway, the driving speed and the
quality of roads have been drastically
improved. If you drive by South Link
Highway (the No.9 Province Road) from
Taitung, you will arrive in Dawu within
an hour. It takes about 2 hours if you
depart from Kaohsiung City.
Long-distance transportation is now
operated by Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport
Company; you can take a bus from Dawu
Station to Taitung City or to Pingtung
and Kaohsiung. Regional transportation
is run by Ding Dong Bus that shuttles
between Dawu and Taitung City. You can
get on or drop off by any bus stop along
the way and it is quite convenient.
18 runs of scheduled trains are
available between Taitung and Kaohsiung
every day. It takes around 2.5 hours
from Taitung to Kaohsiung by Tze Chiang
Express and 3 hours by Chu Kuang
Express. The South Link Railway
possesses Dawu and Kuchuang two stations
within Dawu Township. Some runs to
Taichung and Hualien are nonstop. It’s
also very convenient.
